Surrender to New Beginnings
Jan 04, 2022Can you believe it is the first week of 2022?
We are living in the midst of a New Beginning.
No matter what you think about the New Year Resolutions or intention setting etc, it is written into our cells to celebrate new beginnings.
We mark birthdays and seasons as a chance to remember where we have been and dream about where we are going.
We love babies of all species because they remind us of the potential each life carries in it.
We are inherently excited about the opportunity that comes with starting fresh.
Last year was momentous to me in being able to publish my book, after years of work to gather the stories and wisdom I share in it. It was also one of the busiest, hardest and most amazing years of attending births I have ever had.
I attended over 50 births in 2021!! I was witness to so many new beginnings this year and all it took to surrender to them!
I took some time this week to go through and remember each of these beautiful beginnings. I was honored to witness:
- Babies born in the caul
- Babies who wanted to share a birthday with their comrades from the other side
- Babies who didn’t want to wait for their midwife
- Babies who had to work really hard to find their way out
- Babies whose first cry gave their parents a new hope for life
- Babies who surprised their parents being the opposite sex of what they anticipated
- Babies who taught their parents how strong they really are
Each new beginning was a surprise in some way, and that is beautiful. We never know exactly how a baby will choose to enter this life until it happens, and it is always, somehow, perfect.
This year will be the same.
We don’t know what it holds. But somehow it will be perfect.
It could be perfectly hard. Perfectly chaotic. Perfectly heart-breaking. But exactly what is needed nonetheless.
I hope with the (somewhat arbitrary) marking of a new year that you have taken or will take some time to remember all the victories and joyous moments you have celebrated this year.
I hope you remember the love that was shown to you by those around you.
I hope you feel the vibration in your heart of the potential this new beginning holds.
Remember your birth(s).
Remember the potential you felt seeing your baby for the first time.
Remember that each breath you take is a new beginning.
Remember all you have birthed and created in this lifetime.
Remember the potential you have to create SO. MUCH. MORE.
You all mean so much to me, thank you for sharing your new beginnings with me, and for sharing this new beginning of 2022 as well.
