Can You Just Be Alive Again?

Are you excited for Spring? I know I am. Such a lovely time to remember that things renew. To feel the sun on your face and discover signs of growth within and around you.

I never told you much about my trip to Egypt… It’s such a big experience, it's very difficult to boil it down into a few paragraphs.

But WOW.

Talk about growth within and around you.

Just after taking this amazing picture standing at the feet of the Sphinx, able to touch it and wonder how many millions of humans have walked in that place, wondered at its majesty, see Orion above its mighty head… we met with a man whose ancestry goes back to the three kings who brought the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to Jesus, and who still works with these precious oils as a master healer and teacher.

He asked me if I could do him a favor… if I could just be alive again.

A few days later, we were in a lesser traveled city outside a temple said to be discovered by a young British girl who was said to have been brought back from the dead and started having visions and dreams of this temple and told archaeologists exactly where to dig…
I had to honor to participate in an ancient ceremony that was used to bring back Osiris from the dead, and is still used today to bring transformation.
I experienced the holy sacrament in a whole new way… my own way, during this ceremony as I asked for this gift of transformation.

That night, swimming alone under the stars, I was able to wonder in a new way, who I am and why I am here.

I was able to witness first hand the death and rebirth of civilizations, beliefs, and question my own.

I got to baptize myself in the river Nile and feel the renewing energy that lingered on my skin for hours… and still lingers in my heart.

I traveled slowly, for 5 days, on a boat up the Nile, sat with an Egyptian family who asked me about birth and family dynamics, and asked others about guns and war, and we were all able to learn how similar we are.

I sang and danced. I cried. I loved.

I felt growth within and around me.

I am still in the process of discovering what it means to become alive again.
