Been a Minute - I Have A Lot to Share!
Jun 20, 2023I know it's been a minute since you have heard from me... I also know that you all understand how it goes! I’ve been out enjoying summer on top of catching babies, mentoring birthkeepers, raising kids…
I have a lot to share with you!
Hope your summer has been fabulous so far.
I've had the honor of witnessing some beautiful growth in my birthing families this season as well...
- A first time mom who blew me away with the grace with which she birthed her baby... And then broke my heart three days postpartum when she sobbed because she felt her body had been broken during the experience and could not even fathom getting back into the bathtub in which she birthed, because it felt so traumatic.
- A fifth time mom who came to see me for a prenatal one afternoon at 41 weeks, trusting her baby would be coming soon. She declined any interventions to encourage baby out... then a few hours later called me to tell me her contractions had started... Her baby was born within an hour of that call... Wow! And then again heartbreak for me at the tears that she shed three weeks later over her milk supply not being quite enough.
- A beautiful mother who had to transfer to the hospital because her labor didn't start after her water broke and then had an amazing birth at the hospital standing in her power. Literally standing!
- And many more!
We never know what our birth stories will hold but they are always life-changing.
I have been tossing the idea around of starting a podcast to share some of these stories with my own little twist... If you are interested and would like to be a part of it, share your story, please reach out! :-)
I’ve been a guest on a few podcasts.. if you would like to hear what I have to say on these other podcasts check them out here.
I have really been enjoying getting to share a little bit more about birth with the community! If you have a podcast and would like to talk about birth, pregnancy, healing, doulas, midwives, anything in between... let's do it!
I've seen some amazing growth in the birthkeepers in my mentorship program as well.
- A photographer who has boldly stepped into a doula role and started attending births and has been instrumental in helping her families have positive birth experiences.
- A new doula who is a self proclaimed introvert and struggles with anxiety has faced her fears and really been putting herself out there on social media in a beautiful way, educating her community about birth and all that surrounds it.
- A powerful vba2c mom who is ready to share her amazing story and help empower other families by starting a belly birth support group.
- And so much more, so many beautiful conversations and sharing of wisdom... Ugh I just love these groups of powerful women, showing up for themselves and their peers.
Speaking of showing up for yourself... I wanted to let you all know that my womb warriors membership is still open and we have changed the days and times for our weekly check-ins to Friday at 10:00 a.m…
There were several people who reached out and told me they wanted to be a part of it but didn't feel like they could commit to Mondays at 7:30. If you are interested in learning more please let me know :-) we have a monthly new moon call, guest speakers, most things are virtual but there are a few in-person gatherings as well in addition to our weekly check-ins. This is the new version of birth circles!
- A time to connect and feel supported.
- A time to support others.
- A time for listening, sharing, and being seen.
I really love this time and it helps me ground and have an anchor point in life each week.
I would love for you to be a part of it!
I also have some doula workshops coming up and another birth keeper mentorship starting in September.
If you have ever thought about doing birth or postpartum work or would like to dive deeper into this work, I would love to have a conversation with you!
What's going on with you?
If you are interested in being featured on my social media (because I love sharing all of the amazing things my clients and friends do in this world) let's talk about that too.
So many things for us to connect about.... When can that happen?? :-)
Hit me back and let me know! Seriously, let's talk about how we can support each other!
Sending lots of love and hope to talk soon.
